An earthquake measuring 6.0 on the Richter scale rocked Ganzi Tibet Autonomous Prefecture in Southwest China's Sichuan Province at 8:09 am yesterday.
The Sichuan Seismology Bureau immediately sent an investigation team to the site, 300 kilometres away from Chengdu, capital of Sichuan.
According to an official at the bureau, the earthquake did little damage because its epicentre was located in an unpopulated wilderness area. So far no casualties have been reported.
