China Tripitaka: Dangyur
Tibetan culture, an important component of traditional
Chinese culture, is profoundly influenced by Tibetan Buddhism. Tibet
is worshiped as a Buddhist holy land mainly because Tibetan Buddhism
historically exerted great impact on people's ideology and the region's
political and economic life, playing an important role in the development
of Tibetan ethical and material culture.
Since the founding of the People's Republic of China in 1949,
the Central Government has worked hard to develop traditional Tibetan
culture. Huge amounts of money were allocated for the collation
and publication of the Tibetan part of China Tripitaka, an important
classic of Tibetan traditional culture.
