August 16 is the last day of the Horse-racing Cultural Festival of Qiangtang. The matches of that day were intensified. Lhamas from Northern Tibet were also attracted to have a watch at the sea level of above 4,500 meters.
The Horse-racing Cultural Festival lasted for a week, which is the grandest event of the year on Qiangtang grassland. Games like tug-of-war, yak-racing, and arrow-shooting attract tens of thousands of herdsmen. In recent years, the pageant has evolved into a comprehensive event that features sports, tourism, trade, literature, etc.
