Tibetan Films and TV Programs Show
Three documentaries and features will be shown during the China
Tibetan Culture Week. They are "The Potala Palace", "A
Trip to Tibet" and "Snow Plateau Gala---Celebrating the
50 Anniversary of the Peaceful Liberation of Tibet".
"The Potala Palace", a colored documentary film, shows
us around the golden roof, King of Dharma Cave, the stupas hall
of Dailai Lhamas of successive generations, the Red Palace and White
Palace, and every corridor of the Potala Palace.
"A Trip to Tibet" is a TV program consisting of 50 units.
It shows the natural scenery, introducing Tibetan Buddhism and interviews
the historical witnesses. It displays the true life of Tibetan people
and gives the most overall and in-depth report on Tibet.
Two movies will be shown in the China Tibetan Culture Week: "The
Red River Valley" and Song of Tibet".
The Red River Valley tells a moving love story while the Han and
Tibetan people resisted the British imperial aggressors. This film
is composed of beautiful scenery, unique Tibetan culture and the
brave and heroic aoul of the Tibetan people.
"Song of Tibet", displays the half century of Tibetan
history by telling the love story of Yixi-Zhoima, a Tibetan woman,
her romance with three men and her whole life. The actors and actress
are all of Tibetan nationality. The staring actress Denzin Drolkar,
a National First-class Performer, has won the special prize for
the best actress in a leading role of the 22 Golden-Rooster Prize
of China Film and the 8 academic prize for Chinese Film Artists
in 2001.
