Message from H.E. GUAN Chengyuan

On the occasion of the Cultural Week of China's Tibet to be held soon in Brussels, I hereby extend, on behalf of the Chinese Embassy in Belgium and the Chinese Mission to the European Communities, and in my own name, my warm congratulations.
Tibet is a land of miracle in China. The magnificent landscapes, the simple and pure customs of the Tibetan ethnic group and the distinctive cultural traditions constitute the unique charms of the snow plateau. Since the democratic Reform, especially the reform and opening-up policy being implemented, Tibet Autonomous region has made outstanding achievements in economic and social development, which have attracted worldwide attention. The progress made in inheriting and carrying forward the ethnic culture and arts is even more remarkable.
The Cultural Week of China's Tibet will show the audience the rich substance of Tibetan traditional cultures in the most concentrated and representative ways, with picture and Thangka exhibition, film shows, song and dance performances and view-exchanges with Tibetologists and living Buddhas. The cultural week will open up a window for the Belgian people to know and understand Tibetan cultures and arts, which will conduce to the promotion of China-Belgium cultural exchanges and the enhancement of the mutual understanding and friendship between the peoples of our two countries. Therefore, I would like to express my sincere thanks to the sponsors of this cultural week, who are the China International culture Association, Foreign Cultural Exchanges Association of the Tibet Autonomous Region, Belgium-china Association and Belgium-China cultural Center. I also wish the cultural Week of China's Tibet a complete success.
