China's Tibet Cultural Week Opens in Brussels

China¡¯s Tibet Cultural Week has opened in the capital city of Belgium, Brussels.

The festival is the first time that China holds a Tibet-themed cultural exchange activity in Europe.

Both Chinese Premier Zhu Rongji, and Vice-President of the European Parliament Joan Colom sent a congratulating letter to the festival. They believe the cultural week will help people understand Tibetan tradition and culture.

More than 400 representatives from over 50 countries including Chinese Ambassador to Belgium Guan Chengyuan attended the opening ceremony.
