Jigmei Chilai (Tibetan)

Member of the China Association of Fine Artists; Secretary General of the Tibet Association of Fine Artists; Third Class fine artist.
Born on July 1,1961, Jigmei Chilai was graduated from the Department of Arts of Tibet University in 1981, and furthered his study in the Central Academy of Fine Arts. His Dry-Cooking Qingke Barley was shown in France and Italy on behalf of the Chinese Art Gallery; his Plateau Great Wall won First class Award at the Exhibition of Fine Art and Calligraphy Works held to mark the 60th anniversary of the founding of the PLA, and was show during the National PLA Founding Anniversary Fine Art Works Show; his Portrait of Horse Riding and Shooting was shown in Switzerland; his Buddhist Protection and Impression won the Geshan Outstanding Award; his Village won the Second Class Award at a fine art works show held to mark the 40th anniversary of the peaceful liberation of Tibet; his Auspiciousness won New Man Bronze Award at the International Water-lnk Works Contest held in Toronto, Canada, and also won an award from the Han Shuli Creativeness Foundation; and his Holyland was collected by the Tokyo Shaping Art Academy.
