Cewang Tashi (Tibetan)
Member of the Tibet Association of Fine Artists;
Associate professor with the Department of Arts of Tibet University;
Member of the China Council for the Promotion of the Ethnic Minority
Fine Arts;
Council member of the Lhasa Association of Fine Artists.
Born in 1963 in Lhasa, Cewang Tashi studied oil painting in the Department
of Fine Arts of the Central Institute in 1984, he remained to teach.
In 1988, he switched to teach in the Department of Fine Arts of Tibet
University. His works were shown in Japan, Bengladesh and Macao, and
were taken into Collected Landscape Oil Paintings in China, Fond Feelings
for China (Taiwan) and some other pictorials. He won Gold Medal at
the Exhibition of Paintings by Young Tibetan Artists, and a bronze
at the China Exhibition of Paintings by Ethnic Minority Artists. Dozens
of his oil paintings were collected by more than 10 countries and
regions including the United States, Japan, France, Germany and Hong
Kong.
