PATRICK
CONDON
Patrick Condon has established a global reputation for production
excellence in radio, television, events negotiations and management covering the
entire entertainment, arts and sporting industry, spanning more than twenty-five
years.
He has been an integral part of continuing development of entertainment
in Australia and beyond. The production of ground breaking television series for
Seven, Nine and Ten networks together with the production of many international
special events. His multi-arts production of the Royal Bi-Centennial celebration
remains the highest rating entertainment television event in Australian history.
In 1975, Patrick was appointed by the Prime Minister to the position of founding
commissioner of the Australian Film Commission, establishing tax incentives for
investment in the Australian film industry. From this he went on the establish
high level relationships with government and commercial organisation in USA, UK,
Russia, China and South America.
In the arts, Patrick's productions included
the film Don Quixote, with the Australian Ballet directed by Rudolf Nureyev considred
to be a classic, the Sydney Opera House, opening season in the Presence of Her
Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, which featured major international artists televised
internationally; the giant outdoor events Adia and Turandot in Sydney, Melbourne
and Tokyo each with cast of over 2000; several international tours with The New
York City Ballet, and an arena production of The Kirov Ballets "The Nutcracker".
In sport he was one of the promoters of Muhammad Ali versus George Foreman world
heavy weight championship fight in Zarire; soccer matches between Australian and
Russia and Australia and China together with Asian tours of the US based Stars
of the NBA with Shaquile O'Neil and Koby Bryant.
His production of the
television series The Gladiators assumed the number one rating position in Australia
and New Zealand, as well as a continuing top ten position in the UK through London
Weekend Television.
Patrick has been a leader in international negotiating
and maximizing of sponsorship opportunities for major Australian and international
corporations as well as organising Expo's for the Federal Government. His management
of highly complex entertainment, sporting and cultural events is of the highest
order.
He was commissioned by the Hong Kong Tourist Assosiation to develop
their Spotlight Hong Kong initiative to follow the handover of sovereignty to
China. Through Patrick the world renowned Kirov Ballet and Bolshoi Ballets performed
in Hong Kong, Shanghai, Australia and the USA.
Recent activities included
consulting the Beijing 2008 Bid Committee in the preparation of their successful
bid.
Currently developing a series of international television and live
events with the PRC Ministry of Culture and the National Council of China.
