Tibetan Culture Week consists of 24 members most of whom are from China Tibet
Lhasa Ethnic Art Troupe. Ninety-eight percent of the members are of Tibetan ethnic.
£ China Tibet Lhasa Ethnic Art Troupe, founded in 1960, which is a professional
art troupe composed of 104 members most of whom are Tibetan. the programs of the
troupe consist mainly of Tibetan dances and songs which can be classified in two
styles-classical style and modern style. This troupe not only performs in China,
but also pays visits to foreign countries such as U.S.A, Canada, the U.K., Italy
and Switzerland with high praise, its excellent programs have won many prizes
in China and in foreign countries. £ There are many famous Tibetan artists
in this troupe, such as: Losang Samden (famous Tibetan composer), Tupden (vice
chairman of the Association of Chinese Quyi), Denzin Drolkar (famous Tibetan artist,
National First-class Performer), phuntsok Tsering (vice Chairman of Tibetan Branch
of the Association of Chinese Dancers, director), famous young performers-Kelsang
Choedren. Pelma Kyi and Lhakar, Tibetan young musical player-Tsering, and excellent
dancers Thundrup Wanggyal and Yangdren. |
