Traditional Costumes and Ornaments in Various Areas

Qamdo (Kamba) Costumes and Ornaments: Qamdo (Kamba) costumes boast satin outside, are lined with lamb hide, and have fur rims; they are inlaid with priceless gems. Strongly built, sun-tanned Kamba men wearing such costumes love to carry waist knives with long handles, demonstrating the spirited character of Kamba men as well as wealth.

Nyingchi Costumes and ornaments: Nyingchi, also called Gongbu in Tibetan, is known for picturesque landscape that features emerald mountains, crystal clear waters, vast expanse of forests, snow-capped peaks and deep ravines. Delicately made hats, pulu woolen sleeveless jackets, unique aesthetic beauty, and rich local flavor are blended organically with nature. Female jackets are adorned with satin for graceful outlook, and men's impress viewers with their straightforward traits. Moving out of dense forests and deep ravines, they are full of piousness and hope.

Nagqu Costumes and Ornaments: Bright eyes shining under scarves used to wrap their heads, pastoral songs ringing in grasslands, leather hats glistening under sunshine, and animal hide lined robes inlaid with rainbows herders in northern Tibet boast minds pure as nature. They sing pastoral songs while herding in the vast expanse of grasslands. Returning to nature, being romantic, full of hope for a bright futrue!

Ngari Costumes and Ornaments: Crescent headgear, rainbowlike drapes, and changing fashions "Guge Kingdom" still exists; clay forests still stand; and birds still fly over Banggang Lake. Holy mountain of Kangdese is majestic, and Mampan Yunco Lake is crystal clear.

Xigaze Costumes and Ornaments: Noble Bargo Headgear, elegant silk skirts, colorful sleeveless robes, and white, unsophisticated pulu woolen robes these are so simple and so grave, and so light and so heavy in meaning. Beauty hides in "flag clouds" moving around the Qomolangmo.

Lhasa Costumes and Ornaments: Elegant Barzhu headgear adorned with pearls, colorful sleeveless long skirts, beautiful Bamdian aprons, noble Tibetan boots, and gold or silver Karwo amulets dangling in front of chests all these show the grace and elegance of Lhasa women.
